The basic configuration of FMG storage solutions consists of a storage access device,
which serves high-rise rack towers with storage cassettes to one or two sides depending on the available space.

The benefits of this construction are particularly low access time, optimal use of space and low energy consumption.

Storage cassettes

Storage cassettes can be used to store unprocessed wood plates, semi-finished or finished goods, residual material and other types of goods.

The construction of the storage cassettes and their access by the shelf access device determine the space-efficiency of the storage solution.
A newly developed mechanism to access the cassettes reduces the distance between the cassettes to a few centimetres and therefore increases the storage capacity on the same base area. |

Storage access device

The solidly built storage access device runs on tracks on the floor and on the ceiling.
It runs between the high-rise rack towers both vertically and horizontally at the same time.
This guarantees fast access to stored goods.

Loading of the storage access device can be achieved by various mechanisms such as chain-manipulators which access the storage cassettes at both ends. |

Input and output stations

Starting from customer specifications and considerations about the material flow, the number and positions of the input and output stations are determined.

Operations are designed for optimal use of existing and future processing machines and the situation in the building of the customer.
Possibilities include fully automated charging of wood processing machines as well as manual access to the content of the storage cassettes. |

Control of the storage solution

The storage solution is designed for fully automated operation and controlled by an optimised operation software.
Distant diagnosis and maintenance by modem guarantee a maximal reliability of the storage solution. |

Process operation, integration in IT-Systems

Wood plates storage solutions run either on fully or semi-automated mode.
The fully automated mode includes PCs with a warehouse management system.

With increasing size of the storage solution a computer with warehouse management system is recommendable.
Interfaces allow the integration of the storage solution in the entire production infrastructure,
as well as the integration in IT-systems of the company (e.g. ERP software).
