a description of an optimised production process of our customers. The description illustrates

Material delivery,
loading of storage cassettes
|
|
At the beginning of the production process stands the delivery of sheet-metal of varying formats.
The raw material is then loaded into the cassettes at the input stations of the storage solution.
For an efficient and safe loading process, FMG supplies the handling device for sheet-metal packages.
New sheet-metal plates are inserted in the storage cassettes, whereby the old plates can be stacked
on top of new plates. This guarantees an optimal administration of the metal in the storage solution. |

After loading the storage cassette, the entire cassette is weighed.
The operation system of the storage solution calculates the amount of sheet-metal plates in the cassette and sends the result to the warehouse management system.
The loading process is concluded by storing the storage cassettes at the appropriate position in the storage solution. |

Production / Processing

|
After a customer orders products, the required quantity of sheet metal plates is calculated
and it is assured that an appropriate stock of plates is available to execute the order.
Production tasks are then assigned to the operating personnel and the material is
transported to the required output stations.
The sheet-metal plates are then either accessed by a vacuum-operated handling device which charges processing machines,
or the content of storage cassettes is accessed manually.
The changed stock of plates is automatically detected by the warehouse management system
and transmitted to IT-systems for production planning and control as well as enterprise
resource planning software. Finally the storage cassettes are moved back to their positions. |

| Production and storage of finished goods and residual material |
|
The processing machines carry out the processing of the sheet-metal plates.
The possibility of inserting finished goods in the storage solution creates a closed
and fully automated production process. This allows running the entire production
infrastructure at the evening and during the night. The better use of the machinery and lower
average production costs lead to competitiveness at the market.
The production process can also be programmed to assign a number to every produced piece of work.
The finished goods are stored in the storage solution and registered in the warehouse management system.
Residual material is also moved back to the storage solution and registered in the warehouse management system.
A few storage cassettes can be filled with residual material, contributing efficient overall use of the storage solution and material. |
