The patented PRM station is loaded by means of a shelf-commissioning device using
a loaded pallet. The operating personnel picks up the loaded material
on the removal side and manually places it on the conveyor belt.
After unloading of the pallet is completed, the pallet is placed on the
out-of-warehouse rack that is located underneath by downward pivoting
of the pallet-tilting device. From this position the empty pallet is
retrieved again for further usage through the shelf-commissioning device
of the high-rise rack warehousing facility.
After pivoting the pallet-tilting device upward, the next pallet is ready for unloading.
PRM stations enable thus an optimized and efficient pallet flow in logistic and distribution centers.
The mechanism provides also benefits for occupational health and safety (OH&S) regarding the manual handling of empty pallets.
